Description
I observed a few Portuguese Man-War, Physalia physalis, that washed on the beach near Port Aransas, Texas. It was a windy day, but not more so than the usual. These colonial animals often wash on the beach, especially when the winds are strong. I looked for the Purple Snail, Janthina janthina, or its relatives, which are parasites on P. physalis, but I could not find any that day.
